A Muster is a formal gathering of troops for display, inspection or exercise. Deep River, CT holds the record for the World's Largest Ancient Fife and Drum Muster. The first such gathering was recorded as having taken place on May 13, 1879 although the first "official" Muster is noted to have been on September 5, 1953.
